Short Courses 2015


CLEO®/Europe-EQEC 2015 will be offering an expanded short course programme covering a wide range of exciting topics in photonics and laser technology.

Short courses are generally targeted individuals who wish to learn about a topic outside their main area of expertise. They are intended for engineers and scientists.

The Short course topics for 2015 include High Power and High Brightness Semiconductor Laser Diodes and Applications,  ultrashort pulse characterization, optical parametric oscillators, Characterization techniques at the nanoscale, laser beam analysis, propagation and spatial shaping techniques, practical quantum optics, numerical photonics on High Performance Computing (HPC) machines, frequency combs and applications and silicon photonics. Short courses will be delivered by world leading scientists in their respect fields.

Ten courses are scheduled to take place on Sunday June 21st, 2015 (half days each). Each course is scheduled in two parts: Course Part I (1 hour ½), coffee break, Course Part II (1 hour ½). The courses are open to attendees of the World of Photonics Congress and Laser World of Photonics Exhibition subject to payment of the course fee.

Advance registration is required in order to obtain the short course material. This material will not be available for purchase during the conference.
