EPS-QEOD Travel Grant Student Awards (application now closed)
For the International Year of Light, the Quantum Electronics and Optics Division and Young Minds Action Committee of the European Physical Society offer a limited number of travel grants for PhD Students who wish to attend CLEO®/Europe-EQEC 2015.

The Selection Committee composed by EPS-QEOD Board members and EPS Young Minds members are happy to announce the names of the laureates of the EPS-QEOD Travel Grant Student Award to attend the 2015 CLEO/Europe-EQEC Conference.

Grants

  • 10 Grants are available.
  • The monetary sums are 500 € for PhD Students working in a European country or 1000 € for PhD Students working outside Europe.
  • All PhD Students wishing to attend the conference are invited to apply.
  • One part of the grant will pay the registration fee and/or short course fee. The remaining amount will be sent to the recipients by wire bank transfer after attending the conference.


Selection procedure and criteria

  • A Committee composed by QEOD Board members and EPS Young Minds will review the applications.
  • Grants will be awarded to PhD Students having not yet defended their thesis at the dates of the meeting.
  • Only one grant will be awarded per person and per university or equivalent legal entity.
  • Recipients must have an accepted oral or poster contribution at the conference.
  • Applicants from developing countries will receive particular attention.


Application procedure

  • Applications must be made between October 17, 2014 and January 19, 2015 by using the online system for conference submissions,
  • There, a special item will point to the EPS-QEOD Travel Grant Student Awards.
  • If you are interested in applying, just click on this item when you submit your abstract,
  • Then below this item upload a single, free page (.doc or .pdf format) detailing
    •         (i) your name, surname, date of birth,
    •         (ii) your complete affiliation,
    •         (iii) the title of your contribution,
    •         (iv) the date planned for your thesis defense,
    •         (v) your list of publications limited to the five most significant articles.


EPS Individual Member Travel Grant
The European Physical Society makes a limited number of travel grants available to EPS Individual Members to attend Europhysics and Sponsored Conferences. CLEO/Europe-EQEC 2015 is elligible for this grant scheme. More information and application form can be downloaded from http://www.eps.org/?page=support_grants
